Edgardo Arrunataegui Jimenez
Ordained:
Originally from Peru, Father Edgardo Arrunatagui Jimenez was abruptly transferred from St. Anthony Claret in Anaheim, CA, around 1990, despite reportedly drawing large congregations with his powerful sermons. In 2004, the Diocese of Orange released his name on a list of priests facing credible allegations of sexual abuse. Jimenez had never been reported to law enforcement. It has since become clear that Jimenez was transferred to Spain, where he served at several parishes in the Archdiocese of Madrid using several different names. In 2018, a Peruvian television show located Jimenez still working as a priest in the Diocese of Chimbote in Peru. He was serving as a hospital chaplain.
