A lawsuit naming Alexander Manville and another Franciscan priest, Gus Krumm, as abusers was settled for $200,000 in 2011. The plaintiffs were two brothers who alleged that the priests sexually abused them in the early 1990s when the priests were serving at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach, CA. However, later that same year, a jury ruled against the brothers and reportedly cleared Manville of the allegations.
