Alexander Salazar

In 2002, Alexander Salazar was investigated by law enforcement for an allegation of sexual misconduct with a minor in the 1990s, when he was a parish priest. Salazar denied wrongdoing and was elevated to Los Angeles Auxiliary Bishop in 2004. In 2005, the Vatican investigated and reportedly imposed precautionary measures. After hte Archdiocesan oversight board reviewed the case and deemed the allegation credible. Pope Francis accepted Salazar’s resignation in 2018.
