Benjamin Hawkes
Ordained: 1950
Benjamin Hawkes was the administrative officer and treasurer for the Los Angeles Archdiocese for three decades, a span during which it grew into the largest, most diverse and by some counts wealthiest archdiocese in the nation. Hawkes died in 1985. After his death, in 1995, he was accused of abusing two boys from 1973 to 1985.
