Catholic Priest

Edward Fitz-Henry

Ordained: 1985

An Irish native, Edward “Eddie/Ed” Fitz-Henry was removed from the ministry in 2011 following allegations that he had sexually abused a 14-year-old boy in 2006.  The ensuing investigation revealed that church officials were aware of a previous sexual abuse allegation that surfaced in 1992.  The 1992 incident reportedly involved two young brothers, to whom the diocese paid a settlement.  Church records indicate that Fitz-Henry was sent to Servants of the Paraclete—a church-sponsored treatment center for predators in New Mexico—shortly following the 1992 allegations.  Three years later, in 1995, Fitz-Henry was again assigned to active duty as pastor at San Juan Bautista Church and School.
