Eleuterio Ramos

Ordained: 1966

Eleuterio Ramos has admitted to sexually abusing at least 25 boys.  He spent time in both the Los Angeles Archdiocese and the Diocese of Orange.  He was in and out of treatment for years, but was kept in ministry.  In 1985, he was placed on leave and transferred to a Tijuana, Mexico parish, where he was put in charge of a children’s ministry.   He was not removed from ministry until 1991. Ramos died in 2004. In 2017, the widow of an alleged victim brought a wrongful death suit against the Orange and Los Angeles dioceses after her husband committed suicide in 2015, allegedly because of the abuse he suffered at St. Joseph’s in Placentia from 1975-78.
