James Richard Robinson
Ordained: 1971
James Richard Robinson served in the UK for over ten years before being transferred to the Los Angeles Archdiocese in 1986. In 1973, while he was still in the UK, a alleged victim of sexual abuse came forward against Robinson. The victim was only 10 years old at the time of the abuse. Multiple victims came forward in the years that followed. Robinson reportedly worked in five Los Angeles parishes from 1986-93. In 1993, the archdiocese received a letter from the Catholic bishop in Birmingham alerting it that Robinson had been accused of sexual abuse of children, and that he was being recalled to England. Robinson was sentenced to 21 years in prison at Birmingham Crown Court in October 2010.
