
John V. Coffield

Ordained in 1941, Father John Coffield was known for political engagement and social activism. In 2002, a man reported that Coffield had sexually abused him from 1959-1960, when the priest was serving at the Dolores Mission in Los Angeles, CA. That man filed a lawsuit in 2003, and soon after, a second man reportedly came forward alleging that Coffield also abused him. Coffield died in 2005.
