Jesús Dominguez
Ordained: 1983
Jesús Dominguez was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. He began working in the Diocese of San Bernardino in 1978 and was ordained as a priest in 1983. Although the Diocese of San Bernardino became aware of sexual abuse allegations made by altar boys against Dominguez in 1988, he was not removed from ministry until 1993. He voluntarily left the priesthood in 2000. Dominguez was arrested in 2001 for trying to take nude photos of a boy and became a registered sex offender. His name first appeared on a list of accused priests released by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 2004. In 2005, prosecutors filed 58 sexual abuse charges against him for the molestation of two teenage boys in the 1980s. That year, his former parishioners were informed of these charges and the allegations against him. Shortly after being charged, Dominguez fled custody and was believed to have traveled to Mexico. On a list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct released by the Diocese of San Bernardino in October of 2018, Dominguez is listed as having been removed from the priesthood.
Dominguez was known as “Father Jesse.”
