Matthew H. Kelly

Matthew Kelly has been accused by at least seven people of abuse in the 1960s and 1970s at a cabin in the Santa Ynez Mountains. One victim claims that the priest molested him 75 times and gave him about $25 after each assault. The archdiocese received complaints of Kelly’s behavior as early at 1970. He was transferred to two other parishes before he retired in 1989. Kelly died in 2002. He was named in lawsuits in 2003 and 2004.
