Peter E. Garcia

Peter E. Garcia has been accused of sexual abuse of at least 12 children over a twenty year period from 1961-1983. Garcia’s personnel files show that the diocese knew of allegations of abuse by at least 1988. The personnel files also reveal that Garcia often targeted boys who were illegal immigrants — threatening to have them deported if they told anyone of the abuse. Garcia was placed on leave from 1984 to 2006. He was laicized in 2006 and died in 2009.
