Santiago L. Tamayo
Ordained: 1959
Tamayo was ordained in the Philippines. He began working in the archdiocese in 1968 and was incardinated in 1978. He was one of seven priests sued in civil suits filed by a 16 year-old girl after the priests allegedly sexually abused her over the course of several years at St. Philomena in Carson, CA. One of the priests impregnated her, after which, she was secreted away to the Phillipines. After the suits were filed, all seven priests fled the country with support from the Archdiocese. Tamayo died in 1996. In 2013, Tamayo’s released personnel files showed that he was also alleged to have abused one male.
