Titian Jim Miani
Ordained: 1955
Titian Miani has been accused of abusing dozens of minors over his career as a priest. According to Miani’s personnel file, before he was ordained in the Los Angeles Archdiocese, he sexually abused children in Brazil, Italy and Canada. Miani came to California in 1955, where he worked at numerous schools in several dioceses. Miani left the Los Angeles archdiocese in 1967 for San Francisco and, later, Stockton, California. He also worked at one point in the Oakland diocese.
Miani was arrested in 2003 and charged with abusing two girls. One of the victims was a woman who came forward alleging that Miani sexually abused her when she was in sixth grade and over a period of several years. According to a 2008 lawsuit, Miani molested more than a dozen children during his two stints at St. John Bosco, including four siblings- a boy and three girls- whom Miani befriended after the death of their father.
