Valentine Tugade

Valentine Tugade was an extern priest from the Philippines working in the Archdiocese. He was one of seven priests sued in civil suits filed in 1984 by a 16 year-old girl after the priests allegedly sexually abused her over the course of several years at St. Philomena in Carson, CA. One of the priests impregnated her, after which, she was secreted away to the Phillipines. After the suits were filed, all seven priests fled the country with support from the Archdiocese. In 2003, DNA tests proved that Tugade was the father of child born of the abuse.
