Michael Bucaro

In 2004, a man filed suit alleging that Bucaro abused him from 1983-1989, when he was 5-11 years old. The man’s family met Bucaro as the pastor of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Corona, CA. During this time, Bucaro may have been transferred to another parish in San Diego, but the boy’s abuse continued after that transfer. In 2005, Bucaro filed a lawsuit suing the plaintiff for slander. On a list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct released by the Diocese of San Bernardino in October of 2018, Bucaro is listed as a priest who had faced “allegations for which settlements were paid, but credibility not verified.” Bucaro has been banned from ministry in the Diocese of San Bernardino, and is considered retired without faculties.
