Donald W. Eagleson
Ordained: 1985
In 2006, the Diocese of Santa Rosa acknowledged that in 2002, it became aware of allegations of sexual abuse against Donald W. Eagleson. The alleged abuse occurred prior to Eagleson’s ordination, when he was a brother of the Holy Cross order working at Moreau High School in Hayward, CA, in 1971. Following the allegations, Eagleson was removed as the pastor of Sacred Heart in Eureka, CA, and was reportedly directed not to function as a priest. Parishioners were not informed of the reason for his removal. He died of leukemia in 2004.
