Edmund Austin

Edmund Austin was of the Franciscan religious order and assigned to Santa Barbara. He and numerous others were named as abusers in civil suit filed in 2008 which alleged that the Franciscans constituted “an ongoing public nuisance as a result of their practice of shuttling pedophile priests among communities without warning members of the public that a sexual predator might be in their midst.” Austin’s alleged abuse occurred in the 1970s.
