Jerome M. Henson
Ordained: 1977
In 2002, a man filed a civil lawsuit against the Diocese of Sacramento alleging that Father Jerome Henson molested him when he was a young boy. A police report was filed about the alleged molestation at the time because a police officer observed the priest and the boy in the Benicia City Cemetery engaging in what may have appeared to him to be a lewd act. After the police interviewed a supervising priest about the incident, Henson was transferred to the Diocese of Reno. Henson went on to serve as the pastor of St. John the Baptist in Costa Mesa, CA, in the Diocese of Orange.
