Lawrence Sandstrom

Lawrence Sandstrom was accused of abuse of five youths between 1955-1969, one as young as four years-old. The accusations involved children at Maryvale Catholic orphanage in Rosemead.  Despite these accusations, Sandstrom later went on to work at La Salle High in Pasadena and other Catholic schools in Hayward and New Orleans. Sandstrom left the order in 1997. In 2003, accusations of sexual abuse were made against Sandstrom while he was at Rancho San Antonio in Chatsworth in the 1960s.  Over the years, claims against Sandstrom have cost the Catholic Church more than $3 million in civil settlements.
