On January 2, 2019, the Diocese of Monterey released a list of 30 clergymen who have been “credibly accused” of sexually abusing children. Manuel Jimenez was listed as a credibly accused seminarian not previously released to the public. The diocese acknowledged that it received reports of sexual abuse involving Jimenez in 1999 arising out of an incident occurring in 1994.
