The Diocese of Sacramento settled a 1985 lawsuit brought by a man who alleged that Father Michael Walsh sexually abused him as a child. A survivor of sexual assault perpetrated by Walsh broke a confidentiality agreement to speak publicly about his abuse in 2002. Walsh was still working at parishes in the Diocese of Sacramento at the time, despite the fact that the Diocese had settled claims with the man for abuse that occurred in the 1970s.
