Catholic Priest

Ponciano Ramos

Ordained: 1985

Originally from the Philippines, Ponciano Ramos pled guilty when he was charged with several misdemeanors after forcing boys at a parish school in Indianapolis, IN, to strip in front of him as part of a disciplinary search in 1992. Ramos was transferred to parishes in Chicago, IL, and later to San Bernardino, CA in 1994. His letters of referral did not mention the nature of his misdemeanor battery conviction. According to a list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct released by the Diocese of San Bernardino in October of 2018, that diocese became aware of Ramos’ misdemeanors in 2002 and removed him. He is now considered permanently banned from ministry in the Diocese of San Bernardino.
