Vincent Dwyer

Vincent Dwyer was member of the Trappist Order and a renowned Catholic retreat director and writer. In 1995, a California woman alleged that Dwyer had sexually abused her. The abuse began in 1969 when the girl was 15 years old. Dwyer ensnared the girl in an abusive relationship that lasted until 1981. The case settled quickly for $75,000. Several years later, in 1999, a man filed a lawsuit in Worcester, MA, claiming that he too was sexually abused by Dwyer. Dwyer ceased being listed in church directories after 2002.
